Use of Cookies
The NickFUN cookie policy explains which cookies can appear when you use nickfun.com, the free fancy text and nickname generator run by The NickFUN Team. The site sets no cookies of its own for visitors; Cloudflare may set security cookies, and WordPress session cookies exist only for people who administer the site.
Last updated: 30 September 2026. Short version: NickFUN sets no cookies of its own when you browse or use the tools. There is no analytics cookie and no advertising cookie on this site, because there is no analytics and no advertising. This page describes what does happen, checked against the running site rather than copied from a template.
Cookies we set
None, for an ordinary visitor. You can open any page, type a name, generate results and copy them without this site writing a cookie to your browser.
The one exception is administration. WordPress, which this site runs on, sets session cookies for someone who logs in to edit the site. That is not you unless you have an account here, and visitors cannot create one. Comments are disabled across the site, so the comment cookies WordPress would normally offer never appear either.
Cookies others may set
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare sits in front of this site as a content delivery network and security layer. It may set its own cookies to tell legitimate traffic from attack traffic. These are security cookies, not measurement cookies, and we do not read them.
- Google Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from
fonts.googleapis.com, so your browser makes a request to Google on every page and Google receives your IP address as part of it. That request does not set a cookie, but it is a connection to another company and worth naming.
That is the complete list. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no Tag Manager, no advertising network, no Facebook pixel and no embedded social widgets — so none of the cookies those services would normally set exist here.
What is kept in your browser
Two small things are stored locally rather than as cookies, and neither is sent to us:
- Saved pages. If you use the save button on a page, the address of that page is added to a list in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device.
- The name in the address bar. After you generate, the page address updates to include the name you typed, so reloading brings that result back. It is part of the URL, not stored data, and it disappears when you navigate away.
There is no copy history. Nicknames you copy are not recorded anywhere — not on our servers and not in your browser — so copy anything you want to keep.
Turning them off
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage from its settings or privacy menu. Because this site sets nothing of its own, blocking cookies here costs you nothing: the generator, the copy buttons and every page keep working exactly as before. Clearing local storage only empties your saved-pages list.
Changes and contact
If the site ever adds something that sets a cookie, this page is updated before it goes live and the date at the top changes with it. What data the tools send and store is set out in the privacy policy. Questions go to [email protected], and the contact page lists how to send a privacy or removal request. If you want to know who is behind these answers, read who runs the site and how its pages are checked — and the generator itself is on the NickFUN home page.
